today i picked the kids up from school and told them we were going to go home, change into different clothes and take a few pictures in hopes of getting a good one for mother's day. i promised them it would not take longer than 5 minutes. in general, it's getting much easier to take pictures of brooke and gavin as they get older. however, some of my most frustrating days have been when i've intentionally tried to get a good shot of the two of them. it just never works. they don't cooperate; i lose my patience. it's just not good. today was no different. for some reason brooke started crying as i was doing her hair. despite my efforts, i couldn't get her to stop. i really did take pictures for less than 5 minutes, and she cried pretty much the whole time. her eyes were bloodshot and watery, and i just gave up. photo shoot over. i wasn't very happy. but then i downloaded the pictures. and a miracle happened. somehow i ended up with a great picture of brooke and gavin. you can't even tell brooke was crying :) as a matter of fact, it's one of the best pictures of both of them that i've ever taken. so i thanked them. i thanked them for putting up with mommy's pictures even when they don't feel like it.
